Our Mission Statement

The purpose of Meadows Christian Learning Center is to build relationships with children and their families that will lay the foundation for their personal relationships with Jesus Christ. By providing care, education, and developmentally appropriate activities, our goal is to help each child develop spiritually, emotionally, physically, mentally, and socially.

Our mission statement verse:
3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to know that my children are walking in the truth."

Meadows Christian Learning Center is a ministry of Meadows Baptist Church.

Our Philosophy

Our philosophy is based on the knowledge that God loves each one of us. Every child is special and precious, and we are prayerful about our role in his or her life. The preschool years only occur once. We desire to be a positive influence during these years.

The Child

Our philosophy reflects a child development concept known as "the whole child." We use the Wee Learn curriculum. This curriculum and our teaching strategies are based on the five components that must be included for the child to have a successful learning experience.

Spiritual

We desire for each child to grow in his or her knowledge of God and His love and care. We want the children to be aware of God's world around us. We teach that Jesus is God's Son and that Jesus is their friend.

Physical

We provide a variety of opportunities such as outdoor play and indoor movement activities which foster the development of the children's gross motor skills. Fine motor skills are developed through a variety of activities in the classroom.

Mental

Through games, well planned learning centers, art work, songs, books, puzzles, blocks, and group activities we provide opportunities for active learning. As the child learns about the world around him or her, the child's vocabulary and bank of knowledge grow.

Emotional

Our goal is to help the child make a successful transition from their home environment into the learning center environment. The first way we do this is to help them feel safe and secure. Another goal of emotional development is to help learn how to appropriately express their emotions.

Social

The children are encouraged to be kind, take turns, and cooperate with each other and their teachers. As they begin to accept responsibility as individuals and as part of the group, they develop appropriate social skills. As conflicts arise within the group, teachers model conflict resolution for children, enabling them to learn to appropriately resolve conflicts on their own.
